Music in Schools
November 22nd, 2008
I think the absolute worst idea I have ever heard is to cut music education in elementary schools to save money. Studies have been done that prove that music development throughout school improves kids’ ability to think and work in all subjects. Whatever money music classes require, it is worth it ten times over. Schools need to keep music. It helps build self-discipline and passion in young students, things they will carry with them for the rest of their educational career.
I am thankful for every music opportunity and class that I have ever been a part of. I know that I would be a completely different person if I had not gotten into music early on.
